Mohammad’s PhD project was on sustainable developments of electrode materials for use in next generation lithium-sulfur batteries. He worked on the design and modeling of functionalised carbon materials for the preparation of free-standing cathodes using conjugated microporous polymers. This included characterising the electrochemical performance of prototype batteries based on their charging and discharging efficiency. He is also a winner of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research Green Talents Award in 2019 for his proposal on all-organic-battery technology.
